Shohei and the Dodgers Shohei Ohtani the dual-threat sensation just made a groundbreaking deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Ohtani signed a $700 million deal. This deal just transformed baseball and the Dodgers.  Ohtani is a dual threat because of his all-star pitching and hitting. In both worlds, he puts up Hall of Fame numbers. Just last season he posted 44 home runs and a 3.14 ERA. The ability to control both and dominate brings in fans from all over to watch Ohtani and his master-class performances.  With the Dodgers, Ohtani is joining one of the best pitching rotations in the league. Some include Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler, and many more. Watching these guys work together next year on that rubber is going to be magical.  On the offensive side, Ohtani is going to shine. He may be joining the best lineup in baseball right now. Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts , Will Smith, Chris Taylor. All of whom can drive the baseball to every part of the field.  The Dodgers are pushing the

Iconic Stadiums of the MLB

Image
Iconic Stadiums of the MLB Baseball is called America's pastime. With this comes history and legendary stadiums that hold many memories, and an important place for avid fans. From Fenway Park to my very own Oracle Park. I'm excited to tell you about the best stadiums in the world.  Fenway Park is the home of the Boston Red Sox. Opened in 1912 and is the oldest stadium. Fenway has the infamous Green Monster. It is a 37-foot-tall wall that lies in left field, which is the most notable and famous feature.  This ballpark has witnessed many ups and downs. One high thing was the end of the “Curse of the Bambino” with their 2004 World Series win.  (Fenway Park) Yankee Stadium is home to the New York Yankees. I have had the pleasure of visiting this field many times. I can confidently say it is such an amazing experience and such a beautiful field.  The Original Yankee Stadium was home to legends like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. While the current stadium which was built in 2009 still

SF Giants World Series History

San Fransisco Giants 2010’s World Series Run.  The San Fransisco Giants were one of the most fun teams to watch in the 2010s. With a lineup of Buster Posey, Brandan Crawford, and so many more hall of farmers.  The Giants had a remarkable year in 2010. Led by manager Bruce Bochy and an incredible pitching staff including Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain.  Tim Lincecum was an all star from 2008 - 2011. During that stretch he won 2 Cy Young awards and posted a career 3.70 ERA.  Matt Cain made it into rookie of the year voting, but was 5th on the list. Cain was an all star from 2009 - 2012. Cain won 3 Cy Young awards and had a career 3.68 ERA.  Back to the 2010 World Series where the Giants faced off with the Texas Rangers. In only five games the giants came out on top. This was the Giants first championship since moving to SanFransisco in 1958. Game 5 was sealed by Edgar Renteria with his clutch hitting, and Lincecums electric pitching. The Bay was back in business.  The next year the Giants

The Steroid Era

Image
The Steroid Era. The steroid era is one of the most controversial topics in sports history. This era started in the 1980s and spanned till the early 2000’s. During this period of time, records were broken and surges in power hitting occurred.  Pictured are Mark  McGwire and Barry Bonds. Two of the most famous steroid users.  McGwire and Bonds battled for years in homerun races and power rankings.  The real battle was between McGwire and Sosa. these two emerged as the two biggest sensations of the roid age. Their ability to launch baseballs as far as they did was sensational.  The 1998 season was one to remember. Both Sosa and McGwire passed Roger Maris’s record of 61 home runs.  As excitement grew about the home runs and record-breaking, suspicions also grew. People questioned if these records were legit or not.  In 2003 an investigation took place unvealing the use of PEDs, including anabolic steroids and growth hormones. This series of events cast a shadow on MLB players' pr

2023 World Series  For the first time in franchise history, The Texas Rangers won the Pennant. 52 years in the making and they have never won a World Series. Baseball fans were treated to an unexpected World Series.  When two underdog teams beat the top two teams in the league everyone was shocked. The two best teams got knocked out in the first and second rounds.  The Rangers were overlooked early in the season but once October came around they flipped a switch. Corey Seager led the Rangers to this World Series win. He was a previous World Series MVP for the Dodgers and he did it again with the Rangers.  With all of these accolades, Seager will go down as a great and for sure will be inducted into the hall of fame.  The series went to only 5 games. The way the World Series works is it's the first team to four wins. The Rangers took the first one and then the DiamondBacks followed up with a win that looked promising.  The Rangers proceeded to win the next three games and win it a

Barry Bonds - Homerun hitter

Barry Bonds - The Homerun King  Barry Bonds is considered the greatest homerun hitter in all of baseball history. Bonds was most known for his time with the San Fransisco Giants and his record-breaking 762 Home Runs. Bonds started his career in 1986 with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Bonds won his first MVP in 1990 and felt like he needed more. The Giants were able to give him what he deserved. Bonds was voted MVP a total of seven times in his career.     After joining the Giants Bonds he really blossomed into the legend he was meant to be.  In 2001 Bonds destroyed Mark McGwire's single-season Homerun record, hitting 73! It seemed like he was playing against little kids. The steroid era happened in the prime of Bonds' career. Many people don't believe he's the greatest and think he shouldn't be inducted into the Hall of Fame. In 2011, many years after his career ended Bonds was convicted of obstruction of justice in connection with the BALCO scandal, damaging a stellar

MLB MVP Race   2023 september 19, 2023 With July being over, and it also being the most important month of baseball, each game is so important. Each game is important because the season is coming to an end and teams need good seeding for playoffs.    MLB is the only sport that gives out two MVP’s. They have two leagues. The NL and AL, standing for National League and American League.  Since each game means so much that means it's important to perform well. When you perform well late in the season it is magnified. September and October is when you either win or lose the MVP Race. Over in the NL, Mookie Betts and Ronald Acuna have been battling for weeks. Betts is having one of the best seasons of his life, batting almost .400. What makes Betts so special is his ability to play any position. The Dodgers have put him in Right, Center, Second, and even shortstop.  Acuna is having a season himself. Acuna was one of the fastest in history to reach 20/40/50. This means 20 home runs, 40
