SF Giants World Series History
San Fransisco Giants 2010’s World Series Run.
The San Fransisco Giants were one of the most fun teams to watch in the 2010s. With a lineup of Buster Posey, Brandan Crawford, and so many more hall of farmers.
The Giants had a remarkable year in 2010. Led by manager Bruce Bochy and an incredible pitching staff including Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain.
Tim Lincecum was an all star from 2008 - 2011. During that stretch he won 2 Cy Young awards and posted a career 3.70 ERA.
Matt Cain made it into rookie of the year voting, but was 5th on the list. Cain was an all star from 2009 - 2012. Cain won 3 Cy Young awards and had a career 3.68 ERA.
Back to the 2010 World Series where the Giants faced off with the Texas Rangers. In only five games the giants came out on top. This was the Giants first championship since moving to SanFransisco in 1958.
Game 5 was sealed by Edgar Renteria with his clutch hitting, and Lincecums electric pitching. The Bay was back in business.
The next year the Giants dont do so hot getting kicked the first round of the playoffs. This season was full of injuries and players being out of shape.
As the 2012 season rolls around, Giants fans are in for another big surprise.
The Giants are back in the World Series now playing the Detriot Tigers. The Giants core and reason for winning was from the solid pitching, timely hitting, and outstanding defense.
Pablo Sandovals three run home run in game one set the tone, and the Giants went on to secure their second championship in three years with a four game sweep!
We move on to the year 2014. The giants return to the World Series facing the Kansas City Royals. The Royals are filled with talent and this was going to be a hard fought series.
The series went 7 games. Madison Bumgarner had a historic game seven, with a 5 inning save. This won the Giants their most recent Championship, and maybe most memorable.
As of 2023 the Giants are working on a rebuild, Hoping to one day make it back to the World Series.
Just like in the 2010’s, the Giants still have one of the best fanbases in baseball. These three championships were unforgettable. Fans from all over will come to oracle park to watch the giants play forever.
